Just over a year after Katatonia's Dead End Kings dropped, the band are back in September of 2013 with Dethroned and Uncrowned. If the song you're hearing sounds familiar, then congratulations! You've heard Dead End Kings. The Dethroned and Uncrowned album is a stripped-down version of Dead End Kings that brings the orchestras, percussion instruments, and vocal elements out while dropping out all the "metal" aspects of the music. The result is simply gorgeous. The release is also Katatonia's first release on KScope, Peaceville's sister label.
