Machine Head was rumored to have recorded a new song with Warbringer drummer Carlos Cruz, and now we've got it! "Do Or Die" is a standalone single and is definitely going to please fans who weren't digging Catharsis in 2018. While Decapitated guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka and Devilment drummer Matt Alston joined the band recently, the new song reportedly does not feature either of them and was recorded before they joined.
"Do Or Die" is also extremely direct with its lyrics. There are few parts that are a little unclear, but by and large Genius nailed it. I do like that one line about not being Strapping Young Lad, which is a direct reference to when Machine Head uh… borrowed the riff from "Love". Other than that, the lyrics are basically a chronicle of what's been happening over the past year. Special shout out to the lyric "I don't give a fuck about your stupid little scene", coming from the guy who wrote literally an entire song about how he doesn't care.
