Metallica hired former Bathory drummer and famed music video director Jonas Åkerlund (who also happens to be directing the upcoming Lords of Chaos film) to create this local black metal show vibe for their "ManUNKind" video. The band doesn't actually appear in the video.
Update: According to a press release, the actors in the band are the ones who will be in the upcoming Lords of Chaos movie. According to the press release:
METALLICA has premiered “ManUNkind” directed by Jonas Åkerlund and starring Rory Culkin, Jack Kilmer, and Sky Ferreira from the upcoming feature film Lords of Chaos.
“ManUNkind” is the exclusive first-look at the characters of Lords of Chaos, which is currently in production.
Åkerlund’s Lords of Chaos is the story of MAYHEM, a young Norwegian band that popularized a form of heavy metal music known as “True Norwegian Black Metal” with a flair for publicity, church-burning, and even murder. The film stars Rory Culkin as ‘Euronymous,’ Emory Cohen as ‘Varg,’ Jack Kilmer as ‘Dead,’ Valter Skarsgård as ‘Faust,’ and Sky Ferreira as ‘Ann-Marit.’
