Thirty six years after it release and Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" has its first-ever video. Granted it's a lyric video, but with all the instrumental passages and animations done by ILOVEDUST, it's the closest thing we've got! Plus the animations and overall vibe of the video are extremely cool and totally worth your time.
As for why the band has chosen to do a lyric video now, I'm guessing the answer is two words – Stranger Things. "Master Of Puppets" was used in one of the show's major moments and has since experienced an insane resurgence in popularity alongside "Running Up That Hill (Deal With God)" by Kate Bush. And yes, outside the lyric video, Metallica has also been having a bit of fun with the song's newfound life as well.
