Sum Of R is here to turn your speakers into smoldering craters in your floor, all thanks to their new single "Hymn For The Formless." The single was recorded live in Malmedy, Belgium by Luuk Schelvis at DAFT studios.
"'Hymn For The Formless' was played during a live session in the beginning of October at DAFT studios in Malmedy, Belgium," said bassist Reto Mäder. "The song is a hymn to the acceptance of delusions that are usually obscured by reason. Playing the song as a live session during an unspectacular autumn afternoon in pure daylight gave us the right setting to merge with the simplicity of the song.
"The minimal setting gave us the optimal opportunity to adapt the original album song to the live recording space and environment to focus on the core of the song, the atmosphere and the connection between us in the new Sum Of R trio line-up. 'Hymn For The Formless' will be part of the upcoming Sum Of R album Lahbryce, to be released in March 2022 on Consouling Sounds.”
Sum Of R will release Lahbryce on March 25, and will perform at Roadburn 2022. More information on the latter is available here.
