Muse began teasing a new song called "Won't Stand Down" about a week ago. The teaser was mostly footage of a pretty massive breakdown somewhere in the song, which of course got a lot of people excited. Now the single is here and it is indeed pretty heavy! "Won't Stand Down" is a mix of some light triplet-flow-type vocals in the verse alongside a much chunkier chorus and, of course, a breakdown. Overall it's a solid tune, though the flow between the two aforementioned segments is a little jarring.
"'Won't Stand Down' is a song about standing your ground against bullies, whether that be on the playground, at work or anywhere," said guitarist and vocalist Matt Bellamy. "Protecting yourself from coercion and sociopathic manipulation and to face adversity with strength, confidence and aggression."
No new Muse album has yet been announced.
