Italian rockers Ultra-Violence are back with some melodic, djenty new riffs in the form of their new track "The Storm." Founded in 2009 at the age of 15, the quartet soon signed with Candlelight/Spinefarm Records. Since then, the group has release one EP and three full-length albums and toured Europe as main support for various bands like Exodus and Jungle Rot, hit the stages are Europe’s biggest festivals and headed to the Far East for two shows in Japan.
“The Storm” is the first single from the upcoming release. Its video was directed and edited by Damiano Affinito. The song “The Storm” was written and produced by Loris Castiglia and Joakim Karlsson (Bad Omens), and mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni (DGM) at Domination Studio.
Vocalist Loris Castiglia comments “’The Storm’ isn't the first song we wrote for this new cycle, but it's the first one we completed. We think it's the best way to present this new era of the band to the world. The song is all about how we ‘made it through hell’ being a band in the music industry for the past 10 years; starting at the age of 15, dreaming about touring the world and doing this for a living, and being slapped in the face year after year by how hard and discouraging this journey can be. But we won't stop. This music is what makes me feel alive and the fact that doing it in a sustainable way is super hard makes me want it even more. That's why I scream ‘You can't run away from yourself’ at the end of the chorus, because I think that, even if I wanted to, I couldn't stop pursuing this dream.”
“We encountered a fair amount of amazing people during our journey, people that helped us out and were crucial for our career. This song is not about them. The verses address our anger towards those kinds of people that are supposed to help you out, but just make things worse. Those kinds of people that make promises they will never keep and that are able to ruin something you've been working on for months or even years. That's one of the reasons why I decided to go full independent on this release. Nobody can take care of my music and my band as well as I can. I know exactly what I want to show people and I know exactly how to do it.”
