If you are somebody who came of age in the mid-to-late 90s and got a computer around that time, there are two floppy disks you were sure to own. Some archaic version of AOL and a copy of Wolfenstein, a first person shooter that was small enough to fit on a floppy (that's 3.2mbs, the average size of an MP3 nowadays).
Wolfenstein was a big game for the Windows 3.1 generation, so I was intrigued when I saw they are doing a modern reboot of the game calledĀ Wolfenstein: The New Order. After just learning thatĀ Meshuggah guitaristĀ Ā Fredrik Thordendal will be contributing music to the game, it's going to be a must-play for me.
Game creator Jens Matthies did a Reddit AMA over the weekend and let it slip that Thordendal will be contributing music:
For the music in Wolf we worked with an amazing composer named Mick Gordon as his musical style is more appropriate for this game than Grappo's. We also have some special music contributions by Fredrik Thordendal of Meshuggah (looove that band).
Later adding:
Yeah, Fredrik made some custom music for the game. All of the music in the game is amazing, I'm really psyched about it.
This is incredible news, getting me even more excited for this game.
