Kid Rock thought this was America!! His namesake bar, Kid Rock’s Big Ass Honky Tonk Rock N’ Roll Steakhouse, was forced to close down in March due to the quarantines and since then, the bar's relationship with local officials has been rocky. Now, they're heading to court.
Nashville reopened earlier this month, and then the bar's license was suspended after they started serving patrons at the bar, which was against public health emergency orders – which only allowed alcohol to be served at tables and booths and did not allow interaction with the public.
Now, the bar has teamed up with some other bars to sue the city for unfair treatment, claiming there is a "disparity" between how the bars are treated and how protesters are treated, despite indoor eating being proven to increase risk of catching the virus, while research shows there is far less risk at outdoor protests where everyone is wearing masks.
Honky Tonk owner Steve Smith told The Tennessean, “The Nashville government is, like, communist. They’ve got us behind a Berlin Wall. It’s against our constitutional rights.”
We think Smith needs to look up what communist means.
