Our thoughts go out to founding Kataklysm guitarist Jean-François Dagenais, who is currently battling coronavirus.

Kataklysm confirmed the guitarist's current condition in a post to social media.

The band wrote "We regret to inform everyone that our guitarist and founding member J-F Dagenais has tested positive for COVID 19 after experiencing severe symptoms, we will give you an update on his condition during the next few days."

The Canadian-born musician currently lives in Dallas, TX, according to Blabbermouth. Dallas has had nearly 69,000 cases since testing began, with 855 deaths. They have been reporting about 225 new cases a day.

We wish J.F. a speedy recovery.

Kataklysm release their 14th full-length studio album, Unconquered on September 25th. Hear the first single here.
