BLAME CANADA! BLAMA CANADAAAAAAA!!!!!

BLAME CANADA! BLAMA CANADAAAAAAA!!!!!

Napster has had a pretty interesting history. In 1999 the service basically obliterated the music industry by causing what essentially amounted to a digital full-scale riot, resulting in their eventual shutdown. In 2011 the service came back as an online music store where you actually had to purchase your music and was bought out by Best Buy.

Now the subscription-based service is coming back, according to Complex!

The service will provide access to around 35 million songs for online streaming and offline playback and will be available on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Web, Sonos and Chromecast platforms.

If you're a Canadian.

"It was important to us that we enter Canada with a personalized music experience that has a complete catalog of local, national and international artists," Napster CFO Ethan Rudin said in a statement.

So there's that. I mean, we've got Spotify anyway, but it's still cool to see Napster is still somewhat relevant 16 years after it was an absolutely massive deal!
