When Disturbed released their album, Immortalized, they included a cover of the famous Simon & Garfunkel track "The Sound of Silence." Most of you thought it sucked. It sucked so bad, we spent the second hour of a RIP a Livecast dissecting exactly why it sucked.
But Disturbed weren't done. Instead, they decided to take it one step further with a music video for the track which is being positioned as "deep" and "powerful" by overpriced publicists, but really, somehow, made the song sound even worse to me.
Maybe it's the extra-close shots of David D. Rainman, maybe it's just the really slow destruction of musical instruments, but this video just seems so cliche and even more unnecessary than the original cover. Am I wrong here?
