I've always felt the hallmark of a great festival is not only what happens on stage, but across the hall where relevant topics are being discussed. The type of talks that change perspective, open the mind, and leave room for future creativity.
I'm happy to bring three important panel discussions to the Slay At Home Festival, handpicked and stacked with some of the brightest humans I know in their field. Each one as compelling and important as the next, with 3 different slots airing before the big show each day.
Friday – June 18th at 2PM EST
“Monetizing Metal” with special guests: Matt Heafy (Trivium), Finn McKenty (YouTuber), Vince Edwards (Metal Blade Records). Hosted by Robert Pasbani (Metal Injection).
A discussion on how the music industry continues to adapt through the digital age, and new ways we've seen brands and artists monetize with new tools.
Saturday – June 19th at 1PM EST
“No Longer A Boys’ Club” with special guests: Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), Tracy Vera (Metal Blade Records), Katy Irizarry (Season Of Mist). Hosted by Corinne Westbrook (Metal Injection)
How the role of women has changed in the metal atmosphere, both on stage and behind the scenes. The struggles they’ve had getting where they are, and what the future might look like.
Saturday – June 19th at 2PM EST
“The Future Of Touring In Post-Pandemic” with special guests: Tim Borror (Sound Talent Group), Dan Rozenblum (33 and West), Daniel DeFonce (Continental Touring). Hosted by Frank Godla (Metal Injection).
A roundtable discussion on how the pandemic has affected this side of the industry, what really occurred behind the scenes during quarantine, as well as the challenge and expectation of moving forward with touring in a post-pandemic era.
These three panels are of course in addition to two days of great music and art, in support of four great charities you can read about right here. Be sure to tune in on June 18th & 19th for all the action on the Metal Injection YouTube page!
