Back in October, we were very excited to announce that the long-awaited metal-horns emoji was finally available on iPhones with the iOS 9.1 update. At the time, I was unsure about when the new emoji set, Unicode8 emoji, would be available for Android, for I am not up to date on its technology and software.
Well fear not Android users! The new emoji along with the taco, burrito, hot dog and all new emojis are now available as part of the Android 6.0.1 update. I would offer instructions on how to update your phone, but I have not had the experience of using an Android device, so I am out of ideas here. I'm assuming it's relatively straight forward? I found a quick tutorial online that says:
- Navigate to the Settings, either via the notification bar or the app menu
- Scroll down until you see "About Phone" or "About Tablet"
- Click "Software Update"
- At this point your phone will check for a software update. If one is available, it will ask if you want to install. This should do it.
If somebody who is an expert Android user can chime in, in the comments section, that would rule…
So why are you still reading this, Android users? Update away!
