Music teacher Risha Allen, or rishdishfish on TikTok, is using Slipknot to teach her students about time signatures. Allen's video uses the classic 1999 Slipknot track 'Wait And Bleed" to quiz students on time signatures after one kid voices their love of metal over rap, and it goes over great!
"I'm a little nervous here [because] I want to relate to him," said Allen in her video. "He hadn't really engaged with me or liked music class up until this point, so I felt like relating to and respecting his music (very personal) would help me connect with him."
Allen also points out in her video that the situation is a total win-win, in that the metal kid gets to hear a song they know and everyone gets to learn a little something new. Shout out to Allen for being a cool teacher!
