I've went on some epic walks before, but 2,000 miles? To have a beer with Sonata Arctica? I've never done that.
Meet France's Jordan Langlois, pictured above. He really loves his power metal and he loves his Sonata Arctica. He knew the band was recording a new album in Finland, which is a mere 2,000 miles away, so he thought "well hey, I can certainly go for a walk" and that's exactly what he did.
According to Yle Uutiset Jordan walked about 13 miles a day until reaching his final destination, Avetelli in Finland where the band were recording their new album.
“A lot of people ask if I’m crazy,” says Langlois. “But I just wanted to do something different. When you’re walking you see things differently. And I’ll tell you a secret: I hate walking.”
What was he trying to achieve?
“I really just wanted to have a beer with the band.”
Don't we all? While Sonata Arctica usually do not allow any fans in the studio, they were so moved by the story that they invited Jordan in and let him hear some new tunes and they even had time to take in a sauna sesh. Oh, Europeans!
