Michigan progressive death metal masters The Yellow Sign, who were active from 2007-2010, were one of those bands that I discovered on MySpace essentially due to the band's viral appeal at the time. They had this shirt design that had "FUCK REPTOIDS" on the back, and I have no idea what that meant but 17 year-old me thought it was cool as shit.
It is hard to believe that was 10 years ago, but the calendar doesn't lie. It is 2017. And to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the band, The Yellow Sign's entire discography has been made available to download for only $1 via Bandcamp.
Brutal, punchy and ever-so-tight, The Yellow Sign showcased all of deathcore's best elements. Putrid Death features all of the band's albums in their original format, including unreleased tracks, instrumentals, demos and a long lost Sepultura cover of "Territory."
While the band may be no more, most of the dudes moved on to form Boreworm, who released one of our favorite albums last year. Guitarist Mike Bielenda and drummer Nate Wittock also host the silly movie review show Double Fisted Double Feature on YouTube, which can be seen below.
