ANCIENT VVISDOM Sing Praises "For The Glory of the Grave"

K1024_AVV2019-HIRES-110

Hand-picked by Ghost's Tobias Forge to open for them on their first North American tour, Ancient VVisdom fits in nicely with the current crop of old-school doom/rock bands that are keeping the spirit of '70s metal alive and well. The Austin, TX duo will summon their new album Mundus from within the ethereal void in just one day's time, and to mark the occasion, the band has dropped a creepy new music video for one of the album's standout tracks, "For the Glory of the Grave." Check it out below.

Musically, the song calls to mind Spirit Adrift's most recent output, but with a bit more sinisterness. The aesthetic of the music video fits the tune pretty well, with its black and white color palette and decidedly occult imagery. As expected, the themes of Mundus are not for the faint of heart, but a ray of positivity can be found between the lines. Band mastermind Nathan Opposition comments:

The world we live in is so fucked up and there is so much to write about, its sad for me to see how many artist these days have the amps and the platform but nothing to say. The lyrics on Mundus have something very powerful to say. The music, the message, the vision and the voice. I hope in years to come the music community can come together, be enlightened, and take a stance against the hypocrisy, the bigotry, the hate, the injustices of our modern society. We all have a voice now lets band together and use it to change the world. Extinction is the rule, survival is the exception.

Mundus drops tomorrow, Sept. 27, via Argonauta Records.
