Fearless Records are putting out a Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 2 on Apr. 1 and I'm surprised on two levels. First of all, Asking Alexandria aren't a punk band and Nine Inch Nails aren't a pop band, so zero of this fits the criteria. Second of all, there was a volume one? The band covered NIN's "Closer" and it's not the worst thing I've ever heard.

They did their thing with the song and I'd say I enjoy it to some extent or another… but man, six minutes? I know the original is that long but Asking Alexandria can't really be interesting for that length of time. They evolve the song up to about three minutes in and then they keep trying to one up the noisiness and heavy they're bring the table but it just stagnates.
So yeah, it's music. It'll be in your ears and then it won't. That's pretty much how I feel about this.
