I was pretty sold on Chelsea Wolfe's new album Abyss when I first heard the handful of singles that have dropped. Now, as we draw closer and closer to the Abyss that approaches on August 7, Wolfe has given up the absolute masterpiece of the album. Get ready for "After the Fall."
The track is everything I unequivocally love about 2000s Ulver– distorted keyboards, swelling noises and a lot of atmosphere. Of course, it's clearly Chelsea Wolfe's brand of depressing gloom that we're being treated to, but somewhere out there Kristoffer Rygg is listening and smiling.
