Exclusive Song Premiere: NONEXIST – Fire at Will

Nonexist, the Swedish death metal band formed by Johan Liiva (ex-Arch Enemy) and Johan Reinholdz (Skyfire) had melodeath fans headbanging around the world in 2002 with their debut release, Deus Deceptor. Through a quick and unfortunate turn of events the band wound up falling apart before they even really began, leaving fans to assume it was all over. Ten years later NonExist are back and sound better than ever!

Today we're stoked to present an exclusive song premiere of their killer track "Fire at Will" off the upcoming release From My Cold Dead Hands. The digital-only LP is being released via Pivotal Rockordings on 11/02/12 and definitely worth checking out for yourself.

Here are a few words from the band about the song:

Johan Liiva (ex- Arch Enemy): ”Fire, fire at will… and ”thou shalt not kill”?!? The double standard of the modern capitalist side of the world, so absurd, so very sickening – and all in a nuts shell too, really. One of my personal faves on the new album. It turned out just the way I wanted it. And yes: war.. war never changes…”

Johan Reinholdz (Andromeda, Skyfire): “I don´t like to talk and explain much about my lyrics in general. Everyone has to make up their own interpretation. I don´t think the lyrics for “Fire at Will” are that hard to decipher though – war is business and business is good… Musically I wanted to combine some grinding black-metal parts with progressive metal, thrashy riffs, melodic solos and a hooky chorus, and I think it turned out quite well! Also – nice to have old George W on board to put the icing on the cake…”
