Hello, and happy Wednesday! Just a quick reminder all other editions of Extreme of the Extreme can be found HERE! Now without further adieu, on with the show!

Sometimes it's nice to have extreme music during a time full of "what the hell is gonna happen next?" Given the current state of the planet, now is the time to blast some aggressive music and just forget all about it. Thankfully, this Friday, the new album Acts of Repentance is being released from the Australian black metal band Wardaemonic. Acts of Repentance is a five track, nonstop aggressive album full of icy black metal hooks that fans of Marduk or Watain may be looking for.

To tackle the first concern of "oh only 5 songs", the shortest track on this album is the opening track, which is still over 7 minutes long. With that, the longest track is just over 12 minutes, making up for a total of 45 minutes of pure black metal. The album all melds together incredibly well as well, its traditional black metal, taking notes from the best and avoiding being repetitive. One key thing that Act of Repentance does really well is the inclusion of some clean backing vocals. The cleans are similar to that of more recent Enslaved, the vocal style is used well to push the album along as well without feeling like it's relied on.

Act of Repentance may not be out until Friday, but Wardaemonic and Transcending Obscurity Records have been kind enough to let you listen to this monster of an album two days early. If you're stuck at home like most the world is, or just looking for some new black metal to listen to, here it is. This is an album full of hooks and riffs that fans of Marduk, Watain, and the like will drool over. Listen to the album below and get the album on Bandcamp this Friday!
