Ex-SLIPKNOT Vocalist ANDERS COLSEFNI Releases Re-Recorded Version Of Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.

How many people remember the original?

Colsefni Kaosis

Founding Slipknot vocalist Anders Colsefni has teamed up with nü-revival band Kaosis for a brand new version of Slipknot's 1996 debut (or demo, depending on who you ask) Mate. Feed. Kill Repeat.

The re-recording isn't too surprising given Colsefni recently toured Australia to play the whole album in full, but did we really need a new version of Mate. Feed. Kill Repeat. nearly 30 years later? Again, the performances from Kaosis on it are fine and Colsefni's vocals aren't bad, but Mate. Feed. Kill Repeat. certainly feels like an afterthought in Slipknot's discography. Doubly so now that Colsefni could be working on new Painface.

"This record is dedicated to [late Slipknot members] Joey [Jordison] and Paul [Gray], my eternal brothers," said Colsefni in a statement to Blabbermouth. "This project completes their legacy for the original Crowz. This important part of their heritage can now be heard by the Maggot generation of the 'Knot family. I miss them both deeply every day and I hope that this tribute to them honors their memory and our ever-lasting friendship. Long live the 'Knot."

Colsefni sang on 1996's Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. and ultimately left the band in 1997. Slipknot founder and percussionist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan also recently set the record straight, saying Colsefni is a founding member of the band despite public perception saying otherwise.

As for his future, Colsefni said in a recent interview with Kaosis frontman Xen that he'd be down to collaborate with Slipknot on something. When asked if he'd answer the call from Slipknot, Colsefni responded "Yeah, absolutely. If they contacted me and wanted me to do something, yeah, why not?" So who knows – maybe this re-recording is a warm-up for a Colsefni guest spot on the new Slipknot material.
