Killer bands like Bummer, Druids, Hyborian and more have all contributed their takes on Motörhead classics to the Ferociously Stöned compilation. We're streaming the compilation in its entirety right now, just in case you needed to blow out your speakers and piss off your entire neighborhood. It's what both Lemmy and The Company's designer Joshua Wilkinson would want.
"Motörhead embodies the true spirit of living life to the fullest," said Wilkinson. "Indulgence in the simplicity of mortalities inhibitors and comfort with survival’s necessities, they weren’t ones to live overly lavish lives of grandeur and luxury even though they deserved it. Lemmy was the persona of Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll. Touring almost constantly he was living, breathing Masculinity with a DIY approach and a heart that enveloped the under dog, the forgotten outcasts of a fringe society, and he always stood up for what was right. He championed the female as a strong force, and couldn’t fathom the idea of racism.
"Motörhead was unforgiving; Like em or get the fuck out, they don’t care. They were brash, fun, and most importantly Louder than everything else. True Punks with an enormously metallic stage presence and sound that bridged the gap between punk and metal. They’re everything we represent and we frequently find ourselves asking 'What Would Lemmy Do?'"
Ferociously Stöned was recorded during the pandemic at Westend Studios in Kansas City; produced, engineered and mixed by Justin Mantooth (Bummer, Hyborian); and was mastered by Tony Reed (Mos Generator).
