The core trio of Ulver, that being Kristoffer Rygg, Tore Ylwizaker and Jørn H. Sværen, recorded and the soundtrack to Justin Oakley's new film Riverhead pretty much in secret this year. Then in a surprise move, the band announced the release date for the soundtrack on December 9 via its own label House of Mythology.
It's a fairly ambient piece of work, but if you've been keeping up with Ulver over the past few years, then you won't be too shocked by that.
