Weezer's cover of "Africa" by Toto has been inescapable recently. That was clearly only the start for the band.
Weezer just surprise released the Teal Album, which features covers of Tears for Fears, Eurythmics, A-ha, The Turtles, Electric Light Orchestra, TLC, Michael Jackson, Ben E. King, and yes – a cover of "Paranoid" by Black Sabbath. The band did a really, seriously good job with all their renditions of classic hits on the record and even nailed the Sabbath cover.
Dare I say I'd be game for a whole classic metal covers album from Weezer? If "Paranoid" is any indication, they'd clearly take the time to get it right instead of just cashing in quick and doing it half-assed.
