Wes Borland Releases Solo Album That Sounds Nothing Like LIMP BIZKIT (So, It's Good)

No guitars either.

No guitars either.

Truth be told, I always liked Wes Borland. He seemed to "get it." He is the self-aware member of Limp Bizkit, who has long resigned to his day job being a job. But the guy is a good musician. And, today we have further proof of this fact.

Borland just released a new solo album, Crystal Machete. When announcing the record, he said he created some simple rules for himself:

“I set up my studio here in Detroit at the beginning of this year and started work immediately on a record. I gave myself 3 parameters:

1. No human vocals
2. No distorted guitar
3. No help from anyone except for mastering.

5 weeks later I was finishing my final mix. I sent it over to Howie Weinberg in Los Angeles for mastering and that was that. I really hope you like it.”

Surprisingly, I do really like it. It's a great instrumental album to leave on while doing work. I've listened to the album all the way through two times already. I'm shocked as well. If you like what you hear, you can order it on Amazon or iTunes.
