Here's ALL THAT REMAINS' Attempt At Creating "Tru-Kvlt-Metal"

Labonte's best attempt at sarcasm fails.

Labonte's best attempt at sarcasm fails.

Phil "There's Nothing Edgy About Metal Anymore" Labonte is trying to get as much press as possible for his band's new record. He's basically confessed to doing as much and has done a great job of sticking his foot in his mouth.

But what about the music? We've already heard the band's radio friendly single, which is quite radio friendly, and a surprisingly heavy track called "No Knock."

In interviews recently, Labonte talked about a track on the album titled "Tru-Kvlt-Metal," which is a response to people clamoring for the band's old sound:

It’s really sarcastic. It’s really directed towards the people that we’ve heard year after year, record after record, saying, ‘Oh, put out another record like “The Fall of Ideals.” We’ve done that, and even if we did it, some purist would say it’s tarnished anyway because we’ve already done it. You can’t win, so [the song] is kind of like flicking my nose at them and giving them the bird.

If there is one thing Labonte gets, it's sarcasm (Note: that was sarcasm). The song fails at it's goal and only shines a brighter light at how auto-tuned Labonte's clean vocals sound compared to his growls:

I am obviously speaking with bias, but this leaves a lot to be desired from any angle. How do you feel about it?

It's definitely a throwback to some of their older metalcore stuff.
