I think it takes a lot of balls to cover Led Zeppelin. In my personal opinion, their songs are absolutely 100% perfect, so to alter them in any way and make it live up to the original is quite the task. Today, I stumbled upon two different interpretations of their famous "Immigrant Song," both uniquely original, and quite entertaining.
First up, Enslaved recently played a cover of the track at a recent show in Norway and put their own signature sound. This band clearly can do no wrong, so obviously they crushed the track. Watch the video of them performing here.
Next up is a version of the track by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, with some help from Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on vocals. Reznor/Ross take a more industrial approach and produce a really interesting sounding track that will appear on the soundtrack for David Fincher's next movie, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Oh yea, and this trailer looks fucking amazing too…
