Iron Maiden has a gong out on tour with them right now and it's causing some problems. It all started on July 4 at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham, when vocalist Bruce Dickinson broke the gong mallet during "Alexander The Great". Dickinson proceeded to do what we'll refer to as "fellating" the handle of the now-headless mallet, and then danced around with it like he was playing a flute, because fuck it – gotta do something, right?
Then footage surfaced of a June 24 show in Dublin when Dickinson successfully hit the 40" gong, only for it to fall on drummer Nicko McBrain in the middle of the song. Dickinson continued his performance while technicians helped get the gong off McBrain for him to continue, unhindered y a giant gong resting on his back. Footage of both incidents can be seen below.
Oh, and as an added terrible bonus, bassist Steve Harris also fell pretty hard on stage during a June 28 show. Basically what we're saying at this point is that we all hope Iron Maiden comes home unscathed, because this tour has been rough. Catch 'em at one of their remaining dates below.
