MASTODON, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, AT THE DRIVE-IN Supergroup Posts Killer First Track

Gone Is Gone sounds great.

Gone Is Gone sounds great.

Last week, Mastodon bassist Troy Sanders revealed he's formed a new group, called Gone Is Gone, with Queens Of The Stone Age's Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar, At The Drive-In drummer Tony Hajjar and guitarist/keyboardist Mike Zarin. The band refer to themselves as Gone Is Gone.

Today, they announced their self-titled debut will be released on July 8th via Rise Records. They also premiered the opening track off the album, "Violescent" and it's pretty killer:

Sounds a bit like Mastodon, doesn't it? I guess with Troy's vocals, it's hard not to sound like the 'don.

Those interested in tracklistings, here it is:

01 – “Violescent”
