Here's one that got by the lot of us news sites! Earlier in the year Mastodon vocalist and guitarist Brent Hinds teamed up with Living Room Recording Studios based out of Atlanta, GA, for a covers project titled Cease and Desist. By and large there aren't metal musicians on the compilation, which features covers of songs by The Cure, The Kinks and many others, but then there's Hinds covering Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine." Hinds' voice works really well with the music considering how raspy it is and his pronunciation of words while singing. Think Mastodon trying to do soul music.
