Mutation, an all-star group that features members of Napalm Death, Cardiacs, Sisters of Mercy, Japanese noise artist Merzbow, and everyone else under the sun, has debuted the first single from their upcoming Error 500 album. It's indescribably amazing and confusing at the same time.
I kept trying to come up with an analogy for this song, but I really don't even know what to say. It's so full of twists and turns, yet it makes perfect sense and I can't stop hitting repeat. Mutation is definitely an apt name for the group, who consists of (ready?) Ginger Wildheart of The Wildhearts, Shane Embury of Napalm Death, Random Jon Poole of Cardiacs, Mark Smith of The Fall, Merzbow, Denzel of Young Legionnaire, Rich Jones of Amen and Black Halos, Chris Catalyst of Eureka Machines and Sisters of Mercy, Hawk Eyes and other various contributors. Their insane debut album Error 500 is out now on Ipecac Records!
