A few weeks back we posted a new He Is Legend track off their upcoming record Heavy Fruit, the group's first in five years, and we sang its praises. The band heard our praises and gave us a brand spankin' new track to give to you! Huzzah!
The track is titled "Smoker Scoff," which I assume is a play on words for "smoker's cough," and it's gigantic. It seems as though He Is Legend has nailed a heavy, crushing sound without using much in the way of distortion. The song is just a wall of bright, shiny guitars atop a mountainous rhythm section that steamrolls right out of your speakers. I have a feeling Heavy Fruit is going to one of my favorite records this year…
