Matt Cameron was the drummer for Soundgarden from 1986 to 1997, and again from 2010 to now. Cameron has also been the drummer of Pearl Jam since 1998, so it's safe to assume the dude knows a thing or two about being successful.
Now for the first time ever, Cameron is releasing his own solo album, where he's acted as producer, writer, singer, and guitarist, and possibly not so much as the drummer. The album will be called Cavedweller and according to Consequence Of Sound will feature David Bowie's final drummer Mark Guiliana, as well as tons more people yet to be announced.
"Making my first ever solo record, Cavedweller, has been a blast. I was lucky enough to work with incredible musicians to help bring my songs to life. As a band member, I have been able to collaborate with the very best musicians and songwriters of my generation. Those experiences have given me the confidence to find my own voice as a songwriter. I really enjoyed making this record and I look forward to making the next one."
Cavedweller will be out September 22, and that's about all we know.
