32-year old Nicholas Shane Meeks has been charged with four counts of felony driving under the influence (DUI) and one count of under suspension (DUS) after killing four on New Year's Eve.
According to reports by WYFF and The Independent, the crash happened shortly at 9pm when four people in a 2017 Subaru SUV were backing out of a driveway onto Cooley Bridge Road. A South Carolina Highway Patrol further elaborated that Meeks struck the Subaru in his 2012 BMW sedan, forcing it off the road and into a tree. All four people in the Subaru were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims included Voraath drummer Joshua "Nassaru" Ward alongside Audrey Maris Ross, Amanda Lynn Leroux, and a fourth unidentified person. Meeks is currently booked at the Greenville County Detention Center. No bond has been issued for the four DUI charges, while a $653 bond was issued for driving with a suspended license. Meeks was previously convicted of a DUI in March of 2024.
A GoFundMe has been set up for Leroux's family right here, as well as one for Ward right here. A third has also been set up for Jade Bruton, who appears to be the fourth victim. I'll update this post with any additional GoFundMe accounts, should they surfaced.
