The metal community has been buzzing (hah, drone puns) about Sunn O))) and Ulver's Terrestrials for quite some time now. Between a very short snippet of the music being released a few months back and a previous collaboration between the bands on the song "CUTWOODeD" off White in 2003, it was pretty easy for everyone's imagination to run wild. Factor those two things into the premise of Terrestrials being that it was an all-night jam session between the musicians that got polished up and shipped off to the land of being released to fans and who the hell knew what we were getting?
Well it's here. Right now. You can stream the whole thing below, but as someone who has jammed this far too many times to be considered "sane" anymore, I'd urge you to wait until you can listen to the whole record through. It's an experience and a gorgeous one at that, like witnessing some wonder of the world for the first time. Terrestrials may very well make my Best of 2014 list, because… just listen. You'll figure it out.
