Back in February I had the pleasure of discussing the progressive genius of Perihelion Ship for the Thinking Man’s Thursday piece. It only seems fitting that with the return of the Thinking Man’s column, that I return with one of my favorite prog acts we covered.
And with our respective returns to Metal Injection, we are bringing you the premiere of their new album To Paint a Bird of Fire.
The band is once again channeling prog of all sorts and classic rock on this album. There are whimsical Opeth-y moments, there are Deep Purple-esque Hammond Organ shredding sections, it’s spooky, it’s epic, and it’s brilliant.
