Gimme Metal Program Director Brian Turner delivers the week's top 5 office buzz-worthy tracks.
SKELETHAL – Sidereal Lifespan

Primo French death from the 'Unveiling the Threshold' LP out in November on Hells Headbangers. With an added guitarist and raw but rich studio sound their second LP takes a stride forward. Relentless buzzing guitars, stop/start proficiency and ripping vocals from Guillaume Zeller alternate between raspy screams and woofer-flapping gutteral growls keep this a lively followup.
SONS OF OTIS – Trust

'Isolation' out October 16th on Totem Cat marks the first outing from this heavy trio in ages, and as soon as the fatass wah-groove rips on this track and the towering bass and drums come in, you know you're in for a great return. Troglodyte-in-a-well vocals, slothy tempo plod, all the elements of what made them great during their Small Stone and Man's Ruin years remain firmly intact.
SPELLBOOK – Black Shadow

From the downwind-of-Three Mile Island locale of York, Pennsylvania, classic metal/doomsters Witch Hazel decided it was time to change their name to Spellbook, and the latest outing 'Magick & Mischief' on Cruz Del Sur stands tall preserving the seeds of the genre. Muzzy riffs of BOC/Pentagram, some Deep Purple organ swirl, and elsewhere on the LP some bonafide Alice C. darky theatrical vamps.
KHEMMIS – Down In A Hole
Right at home they are on this new Alice In Chains tribute 'Dirt (Redux)' out on Magnetic Eye. A standout track alongside some worthwhile peers (-16-, Thou, High Priest, Forming the Void and others). Check out the whole LP here, and it'll tide us a bit for another Khemmis full-lengther.
PLAGUE YEARS – Paradox of Death

Epic pummel from a Detroit band who not only cross thrash and death but some vintage HC emblemetic of hometown legends Negative Approach. Varied but seamless in their attack, the band does a special on Gimme coming up Tuesday October 13th so mark your cals.
