Ulver has been on a bit of a tear lately, huh? The band kicked off the year with its brand new live/studio album ATGCLVLSSCAP and unveiled its brand new record label, House Of Mythology. It was the band's first album in 3 years, though if you want to get technical, it was the band's first non-collaboration/covers album in 5 years.
Keeping up that productivity, Ulver has now announced that it is surprise releasing its original soundtrack to Justin Oakley's new film Riverhead on December 9. The soundtrack can be pre-ordered here, and this is what Ulver had to say about it.
This score was recorded earlier this summer by core trio (Kristoffer Rygg, Tore Ylwizaker and Jørn H. Sværen) further enlisting their talented friends Ole-Henrik Moe and Kari Rønnekleiv who play various stringed instruments. In our humble opinion, this recording shows Ulver at their most subtle, brooding and delicate. An almost eloquent silence, so to speak.
Oh, and even more news! Though details aren't clear right now, Ulver also says it'll be releasing a new album around April 2017 (hopefully) titled The Assassination of Julius Caesar.
