We fully admit the content covered in this particular post is, other than one band name, in no way metal. With that said, a month after the horrific terror attacks in a few songs into their set, Eagles of Death Metal returned to the stage in Paris just moments ago, during the end of U2's set being filmed for HBO. It took place at the December 7 concert at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France.
Before introducing the band, U2 frontman Bono stated "They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago and we would like to offer them ours tonight." At that point, U2 left the stage and Eagles of Death Metal played some tunes. U2 would return to the stage for a cover of Patti Smith's "Power to the People."
Some video footage has surfaced and it is powerful. Much props to U2 and Eagles of Death Metal for going through with it. The footage is below. Eagles of Death Metal have said they hope to be the first band allowed to play Bataclan, the venue where the attacks took place, when it eventually reopens.
