I'm not a big beer drinker myself, but the new booze collaboration between Armored Saint and Metal Monkey Brewing (Illinois) sounds way too good to pass up.
Saint's new brew is called "Symbol of Salvation" (in honor of their 1991 album of the same name) and is of the Belgian Blonde variety featuring subtle notes of spice, wood characteristics, and a hint of orange marmalade.
According to Metal Monkey Brewmasters Dan Camp and Jason Janes, they got to spend some quality time with Joey Vera and his "other" band, Fates Warning and had a blast jawing about beer and music. When they found out Armored Saint was playing the official festival pre-party, they hit up Vera with the idea of making this very metal beer a reality.
If this all sounds like a good time to you (as it should) you can be one of the first to get a freshly-tapped pint of "Symbol of Salvation" at the Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in LA on December 1st. And, if I understand correctly, you can drink the delicious sounding suds in the presence of Armored Saint themselves. For more info and to purchase tickets, click here.
