Obituary are set to become the latest prominent metal band to take advantage of streaming technology in the wake of a certain virus rendering touring temporarily impossible. The legendary death metal band will launch a three-part livestream series later this month!
The first show, on October 17, will see the band playing their iconic 1989 debut, Slowly We Rot, in its entirety. They’ll perform their sophomore effort, 1990’s Cause of Death, for the second show, which will take place October 24. Finally, a show on November 7 will focus on “rare classics and special tracks.” The Rot and Death streams will both be streamed live from Tampa, FL’s ESI Streaming Studio; the third stream will be broadcasted live from the band’s own studio in Gibsonton, FL. All shows begin at 5pm EDT.
The band commented of this momentous occasion:
“The World Health Organization has announced an earth shattering advisory….they’ve tried to develop a vaccine…they’re employing any treatment they can think of….but upon repeated examination and the indisputable death toll it has been confirmed….THERE IS NO CURE FOR METAL!!!!! And with that in mind, we aim to deliver you from the pain within….the pain withOUT this intangible substance your soul survives to crave….and present you with a trifecta of infectious disease that is sure to please your senses…socially distanced, WE WILL ROT TOGETHER!!!!!!”
