AS I LAY DYING's Tim Lambesis Has Been Free For Two Months, Getting Married In April

Yesterday, we learned the shocking news that As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis had been released from prison. Lambesis served only two and a half years on a six-year sentence after he was arrested and eventually convicted of solicitation of murder for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his now ex-wife.

Yesterday, guitarist George Lynch revealed that Lambesis had been out for a while. Lynch's daughter was engaged Lambesis' former bandmate, guitarist Nick Hipa, which is how Lynch has the info. Lynch said "He's out, he's got a mega record deal, he's got a book deal, everything's lined up for him. I mean, he's gonna skate through life. Everybody else is suffering. His wife is living in fear, his children are living in fear. His band doesn't have a pot to piss in." This, of course, speaks to the fact that the former members of As I Lay Dying quit the band due to Lambesis' actions and now are struggling to get their new band, Wovenwar, off the ground, while Lambesis is using the publicity of his crime to secure a better career for himself.

Anyway, at the time, we were not able to confirm if Lambesis had been released, but late yesterday, AltPress reached out the California Department Of Corrections And Rehabilitation and a representative confirmed Lambesis was "discharged Dec. 17, 2016. He was discharged to the Division of Adult Parole Operations." Lambesis is wasting no time moving ahead with his life.

In the comments of yesterday's Lambesis post, Metal Injection junkie ThurmanMerman noted that Lambesis had a public wedding registry set up, with the scheduled date of marriage being April 29, 2017 in Carlsband, CA.

Shortly before publishing this story, the registry was made private, but a Google Cache version of the page exists temporarily. Lambesis' fiancé, Amanda Dubord, was the same woman Lambesis was dating before being arrested. In fact, Amanda drove with him to the Barnes and Nobles, the night he got arrested by a cop posing as a hitman. Dubord, a fitness enthusiast herself, has scrapped any photos of herself with Lambesis from her public pages. These photos were found on a Russian tribute page to Lambesis.

I certainly feel sympathy for his ex-wife Meggan, and her children, who are doubt, living in some form of fear ever since his release. There is nothing wrong with Lambesis keeping a low profile and trying to get his life back together after making a very bad mistake. Hopefully, Lambesis makes the wise choice to stay away from Meggan and move past the controversy.

In a Tumblr post before entering jail, Lambesis made it clear he was hoping to soon tell his side of the story:

“Some day I will be able to tell the story of all that has happened in detail to get the facts straight and representing the many sides to this fairly complex story. In the mean time, many of you will make your assumptions and take the sensationalism of the press focusing on selling points at face value.

“I can’t stop that from happening, and I’ve learned something by not having that kind of control. The people who want understanding will wait until the formalities and trials are done. Strangely enough, those type of minds are the people least likely to be judgmental even if I am found guilty.

“Those reporting from the courtroom will only pass along select facts and the case itself will only require select facts that do not encompass the entirety events. On the other hand, the seemingly larger percentage of people delight in voicing their opinion even though I personally have never said a word about even a single detail related to my case."

He certainly shared a good portion of his side in an interview with AltPress that was posted shortly after the guilty verdict was reached. Read those excerpts here.

Lambesis has kept a low-profile before getting out of prison, except for the occasional Father's Day tweet, selling his prison ID and his controversial lawsuit over developing man-boobs in prison due to not being given proper medication.
