Metallica's 1991 self-titled album has yielded the band an insane amount of accolades, now including a YouTube music video with over one billion views. The video for "Nothing Else Matters" is the band's first to hit the milestone, and was uploaded to the site in 2009.
A new orchestral version of the song was also just included in Disney's new Jungle Cruise movie, which I'm sure didn't hurt the video's acceleration toward getting over one billion plays.
As for metal videos hitting the one billion mark on YouTube, System Of A Down beat Metallica to it with their "Chop Suey!" video last year. Linkin Park also crossed the threshold, as did Guns N' Roses. Though who knows – Metallica is currently working on a new album, and maybe one of those videos will be their most popular in the future?
