That's a lot of suffocation.

Papa Roach's eternally meme-able nü-metal classic "Last Resort" has surpassed one billion plays on Spotify. Following "Last Resort" is "Scars" with 236 million plays, "Help" with 157 million, and "Born For Greatness" with 136 million.

"Last Resort" originally appeared on the soundtrack to the 2000 movie Ready To Rumble, and then Papa Roach's 2000 album Infest a few months later. "Last Resort" peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in August 2000 a few months after its release, and No. 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 2000. Congrats to Papa Roach on such an achievement!

According to Spotify, there are less than 500 songs on the platform that have achieved 1 billion plays. Other notable rock and metal songs in that club are "Enter Sandman" and "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica, "Chop Suey!" by System Of A Down, "In The End" and "Numb" by Linkin Park, "Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns N' Roses, and both "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Come As You Are" by Nirvana.
