Enough grim on grim homage to make your corpse paint leak!

Without a doubt, black metal has been a sub-genre that shocks, intrigues, and inspires despite its lack of hooks and simple song writing procedure. To many, it's more than an art, but a way of life. For this reason, I've always found it interesting when a band decides to cover a black metal song, and it's especially heartwarming when it's another black metal band playing the cover.

Here are few great examples of black metal bands paying homage to their fellow warriors:

Behemoth covers “Deathcrush” (Mayhem Song)

Dark Funeral covers “Call From the Grave” (Bathory Song)

Mayhem covers "Welcome to Hell" (Venom)
