Vrasubatlat
Also centered in Portland, the secretive record label of Vrasubatlat (orcish for "I will kill you.") holds a strong DIY merit, no social media presence, and a vigorous following of people that clamor for its releases. Built as a bridge between founder, R.'s projects, Vrasubatlat currently, boasts five projects well versed in Black and Death Metal with releases to their names. Each project is associated with different disparaging elements. In an interview with Black Metal & Brews, R. stated that Utzalu explores suicide and betrayal that are rooted in Emile Zola's writings. The label's most well-known project to this point, Triumvir Foul, portrays disgust and hedonism by employing "Sumerian mythology as allegory."
Uškumgallu, Dagger Lust, and Serum Dreg also fill out the current roster. The first two mentioned released albums this year with the former providing another breakthrough for the label. Rotting Limbs in Dreams of Blood is VT's latest release and one of its biggest moments alongside Triumvir Foul's self-titled album from last year. On top of these releases, the label has also sold the new Urzeit record, Anmoksha, through its web store. The label has big plans for 2017. There is new Triumvir Foul in the works. There will also be a compilation album entitled, Worship at the Altar of Death. Vrasubatlat is also adding a d-beat/noise project called Pissblood to its roster in the coming year.
Vrasubatlat can be found on Bandcamp, its official website, and its BigCartel shop.
