Things are not looking good for Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer. After being photographed storming the U.S. Capitol building, fans were shocked. The local D.C. police authorities listed him as a "Person of Interest" yesterday, and were seeking information on his identity. Now, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (that's the FBI) has put up a post in their "Most Wanted" section, and the photo of Schaffer is among those listed.
The FBI is “seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals who made unlawful entry into the United States Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, in Washington, D.C.” Anyone with information regarding these individuals, or anyone who witnessed any unlawful violent actions at the Capitol or near the area, is asked to contact the FBI's Toll-Free Tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) to verbally report tips.
Here is the poster featured what many assume is Schaffer:
Yesterday, for the first time another member of Iced Earth acknowledged what was going on. Frontman Stu Block chimed in on Instagram, posting an image of a heart and writing “Nuff said #love.”.
A fan commented “I unfortunately can no longer support the band you are in. Much love and respect for you as a person and a great singer but Jon no longer gets a dime from me. I will follow and support you in all future endeavors. I hope Jon realizes that being self centered and ideological does not just affect him but his extended family. God Bless you and your family.”
Block’s response was “t[h]is is your decision and how you feel and I must absolutely respect that.”
Another commenter wrote "Stu, first off, love you dude. But, gotta know where you stand with Jon being there. From one cat dad to another."
Stu responded "Thank you and I totally understand youwant to know. I would too if I were you. I live in Canada and do not really engage in political stuff or share my beliefs. I have chosen to spread love and not comment or allow any hate on my [social media]. I hope you understand."
Schaffer has previously identified as “a constitutional conservative.”
