Shane Embury the legendary bassist from Napalm Death recently announced that he will be releasing his autobiography Life?… And Napalm Death due in Autumn 2023 via Rocket 88 Books. Embury takes you on a ride through his iconic 35 year career in this 256 page book in which the bassist explains his drive in the music industry. Music to Embury is more than just a passion, it is a way of life for this iconic bass player. The proof is in his 35 year career, and still tearing it up onstage playing some of the most extreme music ever written and performed in the world!
Shane Embury joined Napalm Death in 1987 while he was a teenager on the Scum Tour replacing previous bassist Jim Whitely. Since then he has remained one of the band's longest standing members touring the world hundreds of times. In his upcoming autobiography Embury takes you through the travels, the music, and the people who've been the center of his life and experiences. But this book is not just about his life, it's also about the history of Napalm Death and their part in the development of grindcore music from the beginning to present day.
As seen and heard in the video on Embury's website, he comments "After so many years the book seemed like the right timing I suppose. I guess some diehard fans know somewhat about me, but hopefully people will find out different sides of me."
You can pre-order Life?… And Napalm Death here where you will find two editions. A hardback cover with the classic design edition, and a hardback cover signature edition signed by Shane Embury, both with 8 color plate sections.
